THE ARTIFACT
The beach glass for these earrings was reclaimed from the shores of Lake Erie. These are clip-on earrings that are available in multiple colors with silver clips. No two pairs will be the same, since each piece of beach glass is unique, but some examples are shown that are a good representation of the final product. The 14k gold findings are the same style as the silver findings (silver shown).

THE ORIGIN
Cobalt shards frequently began as vintage ‘Milk of Magnesia’ or ‘Noxzema’ jars.
Seafoam shards often began their journey as mid-century beverage bottles or vintage Mason jars. Their pale, crystalline glow is a hallmark of early 20th-century glass manufacturing, now softened by decades of tumbling in the Great Lakes’ surf.
Brown and green artifacts typically trace back to early industrial glass—bottles that once held spirits or medicinal bitters. These pieces are often the thickest and most textured, bearing the deep ‘pitting’ that only comes from a lifetime spent on the lake floor.
Clear white glass fragments began their journey as early 20th-century ‘flint glass’—the clear, high-quality crystal once used for apothecary jars, milk bottles, and domestic glassware. Lost to the lake decades ago, the relentless scouring of Lake Erie’s shale-heavy shelf has ‘frosted’ the translucent surface into a brilliant, matte white, transforming discarded utility into a spectral, gem-like relic.
